Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Dr. Victor Otokiti announce his passing away on Monday, August 11, 2025.

He was born to Alhaji S.L.A Otokiti and Ediagbonya Comfort Ovaisu Otokiti in Benin City, Nigeria.

At a very early age, Dr. Otokiti proved to be very debonair and highly intelligent. After studying at Immaculate Conception College in Benin City, Nigeria he matriculated in the United States at Grambling State University in Grambling, LA where he was a summa cum laude graduate. He later pursued post graduate medical school studies at De La Salle University in Manila, Philippines and has worked as a licensed Psychiatrist for the past 25 years at various hospitals throughout New York state.

Dr Otokiti would spend a great deal of time getting to know his patients, their history and story. These days that connection is often missed, but Dr. Otokiti would always take that extra time needed with his patients. He always used the most up to date practices to stabilize his patients and would draft the most thorough note that told their entire story. He finished his career where he began it, at NYC Health & Hospitals Metropolitan in New York City, NY as a dedicated and diligent physician.

He has four children to cherish his memories including Samantha Otokiti of Dallas, TX - Sherod Otokiti (Connie & Sean) of Jacksonville, FL - Sophia Otokiti and Ari Otokiti of Oswego, NY.

His siblings left to love and reflect fondly include, Kudiratu Otokiti Kayoma (Frank) of Nigeria, Africa, Uyi Otokiti (Brigitte) of Belgium, Europe and Osagie Otokiti (Eghera Joy) of Nigeria, Africa. Also adoring his memories is a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, friends and colleagues.

Dr. Otokiti was preceded in death by his father, Alhaji S.L.A Otokiti, his mother, Ediagbonya Comfort Ovaisu Otokiti and his brother, Dr. Ebenezer Otokiti (Anita).

As we bid farewell to Dr. Victor Otokiti let's live by a mantra he repeated many many times. "Make haste while the sun shines." Until we meet again, Okhin Owie (see you in the morning).
