Thomas J. Hammond, 40, a resident of Green Road in Mexico, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 29, 2018, in Syracuse.

Tom was born in Oswego, and was a life resident of the Oswego County area.

He had been employed in the construction business with the V.C. Associates Co. of Marcellus.

He loved snowmobiling, and was an enthusiastic NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed rebuilding cars and trucks with his son, Tyler. More than anything else, he was a loving husband and father.

He was predeceased by his father, John P. Hammond; and his mother, Julia (Mills) Kelley.

Tom is survived by his wife, Hope (O'Gorman) Hammond of Mexico; his son, Tyler Hammond of Mexico; his step-son, Brian Nunez of Hannibal; a brother, Michael (Jennifer) Hammond of Hannibal; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held from noon to 4:00 Sunday, April 8th, at the American Legion Post in Phoenix, NY.

Calling hours will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 Tuesday, April 3rd, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 East Second Street in Oswego.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to his family.
