Thomas Michael Favata, 76, of Oswego, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 30, 2026.

He was born in Oswego, son of the late Angelo Favata and the late Esther (Menter) Favata.

Prior to his retirement, Thomas was head of the City of Oswego Water Department.

He was a veteran of the US Navy, where he served as an airman. He was also a member of the National Guard.

He was an enthusiastic golfer, and he also enjoyed hunting and bowling for many years.

Thomas was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Oswego.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Cook) Favata of Oswego; a daughter, Heather (Edward) Pappa of Oswego; two sisters, Sarah Weigelt, and Mary Margaret Paul; three grandchildren, Dylan, Nicole, and Conner; a great-grandson, Jaxson, a great-granddaughter on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, William Favata; and a sister, Patricia Garafalo.

A celebration of Tom's life will take place on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 3:00 to 9:00. at the Oswego Moose Lodge, 134 West Oneida Street.
