Richard L. Geers, 82, a resident of County Route 4 in the town of Scriba, passed away Wednesday, September 28th, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse.

Mr. Geers was born in Oswego, the son of the late William and Marion (Appleby) Geers. He was a life resident of the area.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed, for 10 years, as a truck driver with the Industrial Precision Co. in Oswego. He had previously worked, for 26 years, as a truck driver for the Northern Steel Co. in Oswego.

He was a member of the Scriba Historical Society, and enjoyed travelling with local seniors' groups. He was also an enthusiastic NASCAR fan.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kathleen Geers of Scriba; two sons, Richard "Rick" (Tonya) Geers of Scriba, and Gary (Laurie) Geers of Scriba; a brother, Kenneth (Anita) Geers of Florida; a granddaughter, Jennifer; two great-grandsons, Parker and Chase; a niece; and a nephew.

Funeral services will be private.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

There will be no calling hours.
