Rena Nilius, 77, passed away Thursday, at St. Luke Health Services in Oswego.

Rena was born in Germany, and was the daughter of the late Karl and Irma (Werner) Nilius. She came to the United States, from Canada, as a young girl.

Rena was a kind and giving person, and she loved animals. She loved to knit, and made many blankets, which she gave to both people and animals alike.

She is survived by a close friend, Dawn McQuown of Fulton.

At her request, there will be no calling hours or services.

In lieu of flowers, it is asked that people honor her goodness and generosity. Please remember an act of kindness or generosity you received from someone in the past, and "Pay it Forward", by doing the same for someone else.
