Patricia S.
Reidy
Oct 15, 1939 — Sep 8, 2026
Patricia (Parker) Reidy, 86, a resident of Stuart, Florida, born in Oswego, New York passed away on September 8, 2026, at Barclay House of Stuart, surrounded by her loving daughters. She was the daughter of the late George and Rhoda (Elkin) Parker. She was the youngest and last surviving child of 8 in the family. Pat spent most of her life in Oswego where she met her beloved late husband, Dave Reidy, at the age of 15 and they went on to enjoy 62 years of marriage, retiring to Florida in 2000.
In her early years, Pat was a beautician which set her up perfectly to be the mother of 3 girls who she could practice the latest hair styles on. After marriage, Pat and Dave moved to New York City where she worked at Western Union. Upon returning to Oswego, Pat focused on her family until her daughters were of school age at which time she volunteered with the Head Start Program. This led to Pat’s long career with the Oswego City School District starting as a reading teacher’s assistant at Kingsford Park Elementary School, then an administrative assistant at Oswego Middle School and then working in the attendance and main offices of the Oswego Public High School.
Pat was a devoted wife and mom. She always made sure that we had everything that we needed. She made every birthday and every holiday magical. She made it all look effortless. It wasn’t until we grew older and looked back that we began to appreciate how much she carried and how much she gave. In doing so, she laid the foundation for the women we are today, and we are so grateful for the example she set for us.
Karen and Colleen are deeply grateful for the extraordinary love, care, and devotion our sister Kim gave to our mom, especially during the later years of her life. Her unwavering presence and commitment to our mom was a beautiful expression of her love.
There is so much sadness, but there is also comfort in knowing Mom is finally at peace and reunited with Dad in time to celebrate their 66th wedding anniversary. We imagine them together again, and that thought brings us some peace.
Pat is survived by her daughters Karen Hayden of Palmetto, FL, Kim Herron (Don Broschard) of Stuart, FL and Colleen (Ted) French of Bradenton, FL; grandchildren, Alexa Hayden, Zack French, Marc French, Garrett, Grant (Gina) and Spencer (Julie) Broschard; great grandchildren, Aleiah Yarbrough, Aviyon Hayden, Amiyah Hayes, and Jaxson, Ezra and Donnie Broschard. She is also survived by brother-in-law William Reedy of Oswego, NY along with several nieces and nephews. Pat was predeceased by her parents, her husband Dave, sisters; Jane Donovan, Rosamond Kosiewicz, Margarite Zimney, and brothers; Robert Parker, Raymond Parker, Leo Parker, and Richard Parker.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, October 2 at 10 AM at St. Mary of the Assumption Shrine in Oswego, NY. There will be a celebration of life luncheon after the service with details to follow. Burial will be private at the convenience of family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pat’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association at Alzheimer's Association or mail to PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
Arrangements are by the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.
