Norman Michael Holliday, 56, a resident of East 6th Street in Oswego, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at his home.
Norman was born in Glens Falls, NY, the son of the late Gerald S. and Joan C. (Dingwall) Holliday.
He was a graduate of Oswego High School, continuing on to SUNY Oswego.
He lived for several years in San Francisco, California, where he managed Tower Records.
Norman campaigned for Obama doing work with voters in Maryland and Washington D.C.
After touring the country repeatedly with The Grateful Dead, he returned to Oswego, his family home. He worked at Best Buy when he returned.
He was the husband of the late Catherine (McCloskey) Holliday, who died in 2005.
Norman is survived by a sister, Dawn Holliday of Goodlettsville, Tennessee; two brothers, Steven Holliday of Reinholds, Pennsylvania, and Andrew Holliday of Broadalbin, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a brother, Frederick Holliday; and a sister, Cynthia Maffeo.
A celebration of his life will be held at 1:30pm Sunday, August 27, 2023 at Breitbeck Park in Oswego. Refreshments will be offered after the service. Please consider bringing a lawn chair.
