Margaret A. O'Brien passed away Saturday evening surrounded by her loving family.  Born in Oswego, NY on April 11, 1928 she was the daughter of Dr. David D. O'Brien and Emma Regan O'Brien.   She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 59 years, Lawrence W. O'Brien Sr. .  Margaret attended local schools and was a graduate of Marywood College in Scranton, PA.  She taught home economics at Oswego High School before marrying and raising her family of 8 children:

Mary Ellen (and Terrence Gorman), Lawrence Jr. (Jaye Furlong). Patrick O'Brien, Margaret (Michael Chamberlin), Kathleen (Matt Beaudry), William (Laurie Laurence), Carrie (Dan Culeton) and Christopher O'Brien (Faith Scruton).

She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Margaret was predeceased by her sisters, Ellen Martin of Camillus, NY; Carol McLean of Rome, NY; and her brother, Dr. David O'Brien of Oswego, NY.

She enjoyed gardening and traveling with her husband and relatives, but her greatest joy was her family.  She recognized the special gifts and talents of each of her twenty grandchildren, and delighted in all of their accomplishments.  Margaret gave her children the gifts of strong faith and love of family.

Margaret was a lifelong communicant of St. Paul's Church, with a deep devotion to our Blessed Mother. Her children will always remember her for her positive outlook on life and her life-guiding principle of "do unto others as you would have them do unto you".
