John S. "Jack" Pidgeon, 83 of Oswego died Monday December 25, at the Oswego Hospital.

He was born in Oswego and was the son of the late James Cordingley and Ruth Snyder Pidgeon.

Mr. Pidgeon was the husband of Nancy Raymond Pidgeon.

He was a graduate of St. Paul's Academy, The Oswego Catholic High School and SUNY Oswego, he had been employed for 32 years as an elementary school teacher in the Oswego City School District. He started his teaching career in Buffalo where he taught for one year.

He was a member of the Oswego Elk's Lodge and a former member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.

Early in his career he was a member of the Oswego City Planning Board and Supervisor of the City Summer Recreation Program.

He was a lifetime Communicant of Christ The Good Shepherd at St. Paul's Church.

In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter Kathryn (Scott) McCrobie of Oswego; a son, John C. (Julia) Pidgeon of Kingsland, Georgia, two grandchildren, Jack Pidgeon and Avery Pidgeon.

Jack was predeceased by two brothers James Pidgeon and Larry Pidgeon.

Funeral service will take place Friday,  December 29, at 10am in Christ The Good Shepherd at St. Paul's Church. Entombment will be in All Saints Mausoleum, St. Peter's Cemetery.
