James Defendorf, 69, a resident of Oswego, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Upstate Hospital in Syracuse.

He had lived in the Oswego area for many years.

James was the son of Joan Defendorf, and the late Leonard Defendorf.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed for Oswego County Opportunities in Fulton, NY.

He is survived by his wife, Linda (Lawson) Norway of Oswego; and his mother, Joan, of Arizona.

He was predeceased by a brother, Donnie Defendorf.

A calling hour will be held on Monday, February 2, 2026, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 East Second Street in Oswego from 5:00 to 6:00.  A memorial service will follow the calling hour at 6:00.
