Eva Hallenbeck, 81, of Oswego, passed away Friday, September 08, 2023, at her home. She was born in New York City, May 18, 1942, daughter of the late Thomas O'Brien Esq. E, and Katherine Bullock O'Brien. She graduated from high school in NYC in 1960and from SUNY Oswego in 1964. She taught elementary school in NYC, Buffalo, Huntsville Alabama, and Hannibal but she spent most of her career teaching 4th grade in Mexico, NY. Although she was born in NYC, she was an Oswegonian in her heart. At one time she belonged to the Children's Board, YMCA association, Friends of the Library, Great Books Discovery Group, and enjoyed volunteering at the Library Childrens Room and Human Concerns. She was most happy and content being home on the river with her golden retrievers, birds, and her gardens.

She is predeceased by her sister, Helen Molitor and survived by her children, Gillian H. Clark of Virginia, and Brit Hallenbeck of Oswego, niece, Elizabeth Molitor, and nephew, Andrew Molitor.

A private celebration of life will take place in the future. For those wishing to make contributions in Eva's name, they may do so to the Human Concerns Center, 85 E. 4th St., Oswego, NY 13126. Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, Oswego, is in care of the arrangements.
