Charles R. "Sonny" Johnson, 80 of Oswego passed away Tuesday January 17, at St. Luke Health Services, Inc.

Mr. Johnson was born in Oswego and was the son of the late Joseph and Catherine Doviak Johnson.

He had been employed for many years as a Teamster with Burns Brothers Construction Co. in Oswego.

Mr. Jonson was the former owner McGann's Tavern and the Oswego County Hilites Mini Golf Course in Scriba.

He served in The US Navy during the Korean War and was a member of VFW Post 5885.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife Phyllis Nearbin Johnson, three daughters, Cindy Kay (William) Cottom of Oswego, Cory Jo (Aaron) Greene of Pensacola, Florida, Lori (Vinnie) Kuss of Syracuse, an adopted daughter and caregiver Sherry Johnson of Oswego, two sons, Dennis Johnson of Oswego, Richard Johnson of Syracuse, Dean Drake of Syracuse, who he considered a son, one brother George (Marlene) Johnson of Oswego, eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several neices and nephews.

Mr. Johnson was predeceased by one son, Robert Johnson and one brother Joseph Johnson.

In honoring Mr. Johnson's wishes there will be no calling hours or services at this time.
