Brenda R. Breitbeck, 55, a resident of Waterview Road in the Town of Oswego, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at her home.

Brenda was born in Oswego, the daughter of the late John Abbott and Janice (Bailey) Abbott. She was a life-long resident of the area.

She had formerly been employed for AmeriCorps. She enjoyed helping the elderly and had also worked in several nursing homes over the years.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Mark Breitbeck; four children, Matthew Sampson (Carley Laferriere), Marjorie Breitbeck (Mourad Ouchah), Amanda Breitbeck (Tony Belmont), and Desiree Breitbeck; seven siblings, Amy (Dave) Cory, Althea Matott, Frank (Lucy) Thompson, Rosie (John) Breitbeck, Julie (David) Searor, Steven (Karrie) Thompson, and Joseph (Kelly) Thompson; six grandchildren, Brooke Sampson, Dean Breitbeck, Jade Breitbeck, Faith Breitbeck, Thomas Barnes III, and Garett Barnes; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held from 4:00 to 7:00pm Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the Dain-Cullinan Home, 112 East Second Street, Oswego, NY.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a time to be announced.

A short prayer service will be held following the calling hours.
