Theresa E. Brandes, 82, a resident of Pittsford, NY, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2012, at St. Luke Health Services in Oswego.
Mrs. Brandes was born in Oswego, the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Paluszek) Nentarz.
She was the wife of the late Murray Brandes, who died on January 18, 2004.
Mrs. Brandes was a graduate of the Crouse-Irving School of Nursing, and was a member of the Crouse Hospital Alumni Association.
She had formerly worked at the Oswego Hospital, and had also worked at hospitals in Chicago, Illinois and Tacoma, Washington.
In Pittsford, she had been a volunteer for the Red Cross; and for the Catholic Family Center at St. Louis’ Church.
She was a communicant of St. Stephen’s Church in Oswego, and St. Louis’ Church in Pittsford.
She is survived by a son, Michael Brandes of Webster; a brother Stanley (Barbara) Nentarz of Oswego; a sister, Helen Nentarz of Oswego; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by three sisters, Stella Nentarz, Aniela Grauel, and Anne Sathre; and a brother, Edward Nentarz.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Friday, in St. Stephen’s Church, Oswego.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Oswego.
There will be no calling hours.
