Joseph E. Laffan, 77, a resident of Mud Lake Road in the Town of New Haven, passed away Friday, at the Oneida Health Care Facility. Mr. Laffan was born in Oswego, the son of the late John J. and Violet (LaFlemme) Laffan. He was a veteran of the US Air Force, retiring in 1975. He served his country in Viet Nam. He had also been a member of the National Guard. He was formerly employed as an insulation mechanic with White’s Insulation in Syracuse, NY. Mr. Laffan was a member of the Scriba VFW Post, and was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church. He is survived by his wife Nith Laffan of New Haven; a son, William (Beth) Laffan of Mexico; a brother, John Laffan of Central Square; a sister, Ada Laffan of Syracuse; 5 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was predeceased by two sons, John Laffan, who died in 1994, and Joseph Laffan, who died in 2005. Funeral services will be held at 9:00am Friday, June 29th,, in St. Mary’s Church, 103 West 7th Street in Oswego. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 5:00 to 7:00pm Friday, June 15th, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 East Second Street in Oswego.
