Darryl Matthew Roy, 62 and a resident of Minetto passed away Saturday April 14, 2012 surrounded by his family. .
Mr. Roy was born in Fulton and was the son of the late Oscar and Ann Pontante Roy.
He had been employed as a utility technician at the Constellation Nuclear Plant in Scriba until his retirement in August of 2010.
Mr. Roy served in the US Navy from 1968-1972 and was stationed on the USS Constellation during the Vietnam War.
He was the Treasurer of both the Oswego County Numismatic Association and the Oswego Stamp Club.
He is survived by his former and still loved wife, Debbie Drake, of Oswego, one daughter Sarah (Ryan) Navarro, one son Knathan (Suzayn) Roy both of Oswego, three brothers Gary (Beverly) Roy, Gerard (Geralyn) Roy both of Oswego, Patrick (Jennifer) Roy of Syracuse, three sisters Rosanne (Gene) Roy-Rahrle of Syracuse, Rita (Brant) Messer of Baldwinsville, Susan (Michael ) Savana of Waco, Texas and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Roy was predeceased by a brother Bruce Roy who died in March 2011.
Funeral services will be Wednesday 10:30AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 3-7PM at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.
