John T. “Poopsie” D’Arcy, 77, a resident of Simeon-Dewitt Apartments in Oswego, passed away Saturday, at Upstate Medical Hospital in Syracuse.
Mr. D’Arcy was a graduate of Notre Dame University. He was an enthusiastic fan of the “Fighting Irish” and the New York Yankees.
He had served as a member of the New York State National Guard.
Mr. D’Arcy was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Oswego.
More than anything else, he loved his children and grandchildren. They were the most important thing in his life.
He is survived by a daughter, Laura (Scott) Bovay, of Oswego; two sons, David D’Arcy of Savannah, Georgia, and Christopher (Amy) D’Arcy of Phoenix, NY; and his five grandchildren, Jerod, Jennah, and Julia Bovay, and Tyler and Caitlyn D’Arcy.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Thursday, in St. Mary’s Church.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held from 4:00 to 7:00pm Wednesday, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 East Second Street in Oswego.
