| Robert P. Jones, 91 and a resident of Myers Road in the Town of Scriba passed away Saturday morning at St. Luke Health Services.
Mr. Jones was born in Scriba and was the son of the late Harry L. and Georgianna Gilbert Jones. He was the husband of Nora Meeker Jones.
He was a self employed farmer.
Mr. Jones was a Life Member of the Oswego Elk’s Lodge and the First President of the Oswego County Farm Bureau. He was also involved with the creation of the Scriba Volunteer Fire Department.
Mr. Jones was a former Scriba Town Supervisor, former County Legislator and past Chairmen of the Oswego County Legislature. Until several years ago he was the sexton of Peck Cemetery.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one son Donald R. (Karen) Jones of Scriba, six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
He was predeceased by a son David Jones and a brother Gilbert Jones.
Memorial services will be held Wed. 7:00PM at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Morisette officiating. Visitation will be 4-7PM prior to the service. Spring burial will be in Peck Cemetery.
