Barbara M. Lawton, 86 and a resident of Scriba passed away Tuesday morning at St. Luke Health Services, Inc.
Mrs. Lawton was born in Westfield, NJ and was the daughter of the late Rt. Rev. Arthur R. and Isabelle Van Dorn McKinstry.
She was a graduate of the Tower Hill School in Wilmington, DE and the University of Delaware.
She was a member of the Junior League of Wilmington.
Mrs. Lawton is survived by one daughter Carolyn (John) Michalski of Oswego, one grandchild Stephanie M. Schneider of Port Orange, FL, two brothers James T. (Jane) McKinstry of Wilmington, DE, Arthur S. (Elaine) McKinstry of Lake Wales, FL, one sister Margaret M. (John) Maull of Exeter, NH and her loving cat, Gretel.
She was predeceased by her husband Paul P. Lawton, and a sister, Isabelle M. Stadler of Jacksonville, FL.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 22, at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, 15 E. Green St., Middletown, DE 19709. Burial will follow in St. Anne’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to your local humane society or the Humane Society of the United States. Mrs. Lawton was a great cat lover but wanted all animals to have food and shelter.
