Syracuse – John Michael “Jack” Doyle Jr., 72, a resident of Perry Hill Road in the Town of Oswego, passed away Monday, at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. Mr. Doyle was born Oswego, the son of the late Tpr. John M. Doyle Sr. and Cecilia (Fanning) Doyle. He was a graduate of Oswego High School and the New York State Police Academy. From 1962 to 1994, he served with the New York State Police as a trooper and hostage negotiator, retiring in 1994 as a Senior Investigator. From 1995 to 2011, following his retirement from the NYS Police, he was employed as an investigator with the Oswego County District Attorney’s office. From 1959 to 1962, Mr. Doyle served as a patrolman with the Oswego City Police Department. From 1957 to 1959, he served with the New York State National Guard. Mr. Doyle was a member of St. John’s Church in Pulaski. He was one of the founders of the Haldane Community Center in Pulaski. He is survived by his wife, Patsy (Seeley) Doyle of Oswego; a daughter, Erin Patricia Doyle of Liverpool; and a son, Shawn Patrick Doyle of Pulaski. He was predeceased by a daughter, Erin Kathleen Doyle, who died in 1968; and a brother, Tpr. William Gary Doyle, who died in 1967. Memorial services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, in St. Mary’s Church, Oswego. Burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 4:00 to 8:00pm Friday, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 East Second Street in Oswego. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Oswego Ancient Order of Hibernians, 22 Munn St., Oswego, NY 13126; or to the Rural and Migrant Ministry, 15 Stewart Street, PO Box 192, Richland, NY 13144.
