Oswego – Beatrice M. Stevens, 89, formerly of Bishops Commons, and the Town of Minetto, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, September 11, 2010, at St. Luke Health Services.
Mrs. Stevens was born in Fulton, NY, the daughter of the late Grover and Edith May (Cook) Dunsmoore.
She was predeceased in 2008 by her husband, the love of her life, Glenn R. Stevens; 3 sisters, Viola, Dorothy, and Frances; and a brother, Lawrence.
Bea loved spending time tending to her gardens, and crocheting potholders and blankets. She was known for giving her beautiful hand-made potholders to everyone she knew.
Bea had an exceptional love for her entire family, and enjoyed daily visits from her daughters and grandchildren.
She is survived by 4 daughters, Charlene (Harold) France of Virginia, Dorothy Jones of Virginia, Elizabeth “Betty” (James) Kush of Fulton, and Joyce (Paul) Cooper of Oswego; 8 grandchildren, Mary, Brenda, Cathy, Jimmy, Jeffrey, Jennifer, Steven, and Ann Marie; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Bea will be deeply missed by her family. We will always love you mom, gramma, and great-gramma. You are with the angels now.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00am Wednesday, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, and at 9:30am, in St. Mary’s Church.
Burial will be in Minetto Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held from 4:00 to 7:00pm Tuesday, at the funeral home, 112 East Second Street in Oswego.
