Oswego – Charlotte C. Finnegan, 76, a resident of 17 East 8th Street, passed away Monday, at her home, after a courageous struggle with cancer. Charlotte was born in Oswego, the daughter of the late Moses and Frances (McHenry) Cortright. She was a life resident. She was the wife of the late Bernard “Bub” Finnegan, who died in 1975. Prior to her retirement, she was, for many years, the owner and operator of the Ontario Grill on East Seneca Street. She is survived by her beloved friend, Jack Gaul of West Seneca, NY; 4 daughters, Karen (James) Decker of Greenville, NC, Frances (Harold) Borland of Oswego, Margaret (Peter) Tombolillo of Oswego, and Bernice (William) Strother of Oswego; 2 sons, Bernard (Cindy) Finnegan of New Haven, and Daniel (Chris) Finnegan of Minetto; 3 brothers, Carl Cortright and Edward Cortright, both of South Dayton, NY, and Francis Cortright of San Antonio, TX; 1 sister Arlene Russo of Verona; 14 grandchildren, Kelsey and Andrew Decker, Bridget, Colleen, and Hal Borland, Michael, Kathleen, and Madeleine Tombolillo, Aaron and Jennifer Strother and “Pal”, Bernie and Brian Finnegan, and Shannon and Daniel Finnegan; a sister-in-law, Margaret Finnegan Griffin, several nieces and nephews, and her dog Sissy. She was predeceased by a brother, John Cortright; a sister, Margaret Carey; and a sister-in-law, Helena Cortright. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 Friday, in St. Paul’s Church. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 4:00 to 7:00pm Thursday, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 East Second Street in Oswego. The family would like to express for the love, support, and care that was provided to Charlotte and her family throughout her illness.
