Walter R. Henderson, 79, a resident of Pratt Drive in the Town of Granby, died Sunday, in the VA Hospital in Syracuse.
Mr. Henderson was born in Yonkers, NY, the son of the late Walter A. and Violet (West) Henderson. He had lived in Central New York for many years.
He was a veteran of the US Army, serving in the Korean War.
He was the husband of the late Genevieve Henderson, who died in 2007.
Mr. Henderson was a member of the Baldwinsville Theater Guild. He sang in area barbershop quartets, and was active in area church choirs.
He is survived by 2 sons, Robert Henderson of Granby, and Daniel Henderson of Liverpool; a brother, John O. Henderson of Peoria, Illinois; and 2 grandchildren, Jessica and Shawn.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00am Monday, August 17, at the Minetto United Methodist Church.
There will be no calling hours.
