Oswego – Thomas E. Murray Sr., 85, and a resident of 217 West 7th St., died Saturday at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse.
Mr. Murray was born in Oswego and was the son of the late Clare and Elizabeth (Griggs) Murray. He was a life resident.
He was a graduate of Oswego High School and attended OCC and SUNY-Oswego.
Mr. Murray was a veteran of the US Army, and served as a paratrooper in Italy and North Africa during World War II. He was attached to the 82nd Airborne.
Prior to retirement, he was employed with the City of Oswego Water Dept. and as the City Plumbing Inspector. He had previously worked for the General Electric Co. in Syracuse.
Mr. Murray was a member of the VFW Post 5885.
He is survived by his wife Barbara (McLymond) Murray of Oswego; 2 sons, Thomas (Dee Dee) Murray Jr. and Michael (Renee Pelkey)Murray, both of Oswego; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be private.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
Contributions can be made to the charity of choice.
Arrangements are in care of the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.
